World Cup 2025/26: Planica

 


The final stage of the season sees the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger prepare to take part in the event in Planica, Slovenia. On Thursday, Andreas qualified 31st in the qualification, jumping 184.0 m and scoring 189.2 points. On Friday, he placed 8th in the 1st Round, jumping 218.5 m and scoring 211.0 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed 8th, jumping 215.5 m, scoring 203.3 points, for a total score of 414.3 points. On Saturday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger, Pius Paschke, and Philipp Raimund in the Team Competition. Andreas, who finished fourth on the German team, jumped 230.0 m in the 1st Round and 226.5 m in the Final Round. Germany finished fourth with a total score of 1374.7 points. Finally, on Sunday, Andreas placed 10th in the 1st Round, jumping 238.5 m and scoring 196.0 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed 11th, jumping 217.0 m, scoring 218.8 points, for a total score of 414.8 points. A positive weekend for Andreas Wellinger, who was the star of Sunday's individual competition, earning the first with five 20.0 scores in the 1st Round (he will be remembered for this). Andreas finished 25th in the overall World Cup standings with a total score of 331 points, 11th in the overall Planica 7 standings with a total score of 1386.9 points, and 6th in the overall Ski Flying World Cup standings with a total score of 166 points. Now it's time for vacation and then return in the summer for the Summer Grand Prix.
