Ski Jumping World Championships 2025: Trondheim
The World Cup takes a break to make room for the Ski Jumping World Championships, where the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is set to take part in the event in Trondheim, Norway. On Saturday, March 1st, Andreas qualified 2nd in the qualification of normal hill, jumping 105.5 m and with a score of 138.2 points. On Sunday, March 2, he placed 2nd in the 1st Round, jumping 106.5 m and scoring 133.9 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed 2nd, jumping 104.5 m, scoring 129.3 points and scoring 263.2 points in total. On Wednesday, March 5, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Philipp Raimund, Katharina Schmid and Selina Freitag in the Mixed Team. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team lineup, jumped 125.5 m in the 1st Round and 139.0 m in the Final Round. Germany finished 4th with a total score of 899.0 points. On Thursday, March 6, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger, Stephan Leyhe and Philipp Raimund in the Team Competition. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team lineup, jumped 132.0 m in the 1st Round and 133.5 m in the Final Round. Germany finished 4th with a total score of 1005.8 points. Finally, on Saturday 8th March, in the large hill qualification Andreas qualified 7th, jumping 130.5 m and scoring 135.8 points. In the 1st Round he ranked 13th, jumping 128.0 m and scoring 129.3 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he ranked 8th, jumping 137.0 m, scoring 137.7 points and scoring 267.0 points in total. The Ski Jumping World Championships for Andreas Wellinger were positive, apart from the qualification on large hill which was below expectations but it is of little importance. However, he took home the silver medal obtained on normal hill. He is back to fight for the podium and for the top 10 and this is satisfactory for Andreas.
