World Cup 2024/25: Lillehammer

The wait is over. The World Cup 2024/25  season has officially begun, with the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger set to take part in the event in Lillehammer, Norway. On Friday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Pius Paschke, Selina Freitag and Katharina Schmid in the Mixed Team. Andreas, who jumped second in the German team lineup, jumped 122.5 m in the 1st Round and 125.0 m in the Final Round. Germany finished 1st with a total score of 1097.4 points, ahead of Norway and Austria. On Saturday, Andreas qualified 11th in the qualification, jumping 124.5 m and scoring 131.1 points. In the 1st Round he ranked 28th, jumping 118.5 m and scoring 127.8 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he ranked 12th, jumping 136.0 m, scoring 158.1 points and scoring 285.9 points, the same score as Austrian Manuel Fettner. Well, Andreas Wellinger certainly didn't expect to start the season with mixed results. The podium in the Team Mixed is the confirmation that the German team can always count on him, while in the individual ones there were ups and downs for different reasons. In the competition on Saturday, Andreas had difficulties due to the wind, something that happened to all ski jumpers, while in the competition on Sunday he managed to rank in the top 10 despite the poor visibility due to the snowfall. The season has just started and for Andreas Wellinger there is time to recover in the general ranking.

Until next time!
