Summer Grand Prix 2024: Klingenthal

 


After his victory in Hinzenbach, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the final event of the Summer Grand Prix, his home event in Klingenthal, Germany. On Friday, Andreas qualified 19th in the qualification, jumping 127.0 m and scoring 112.0 points. On Saturday, in the 1st Round he placed 11th, jumping 131.5 m and scoring 120.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he placed 8th, jumping 132.5 m, scoring 127.0 points and scoring 247.4 points overall. Finally, on Sunday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Pius Paschke, Selina Freitag and Katharina Schmid in the Mixed Team. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team lineup, jumped 131.5 m in the 1st Round and 135.0 m in the Final Round. Germany finished 1st, ahead of Norway and Austria. The weekend in Klingenthal for Andreas Wellinger was almost entirely positive, except for Friday's qualification which was below his expectations. However, he took home a podium obtained in the Mixed Team. Now rest and then training in view of the World Cup 2024/25.
