World Cup 2024/25: Zakopane
After a week's break, ski jumping returns with the World Cup, where the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is set to take part in the event in Zakopane, Poland. On Friday, Andreas qualified 12th in the qualification, jumping 126.5 m and scoring 138.3 points. On Saturday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Pius Paschke, Karl Geiger and Philipp Raimund in the Team Competition. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team lineup, jumped 127.5 m in the 1st Round and 139.0 m in the Final Round. Germany finished 4th with a total score of 1110.0 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the 1st Round he ranked 10th, jumping 133.0 m and scoring 147.2 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he ranked 11th, jumping 132.0 m, scoring 136.5 points and with a total score of 283.7 points. Bittersweet weekend for Andreas Wellinger. His jumps were solid, but it wasn't enough to fight for the podium and reach the top 10. Andreas is disappointed not to have reached his goal in Zakopane, but he will surely have other chances to get back on the podium.
