World Cup 2023/24: Lahti
The World Cup makes a stop in Scandinavia, where the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the event in Lahti, Finland. On Friday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 3rd, jumping 130.0 m and scoring 130.3 points. In the 1st Round he placed 4th, jumping 129.5 m and scoring 129.3 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he placed 2nd, jumping 126.5 m, with a score of 127.8 points and with a total score of 257.1 points. On Saturday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Stephan Leyhe, Pius Paschke and Philipp Raimund in the Team Competition. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team line up, jumped 122.0 m in the 1st Round and 127.0 m in the Final Round. Germany placed 3rd with a total score of 883.2 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 13th, jumping 121.0 m and scoring 118.6 points. In the 1st Round he placed 8th, jumping 126.5 m and scoring 120.8 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he placed 7th, jumping 126.0 m, with a score of 125.6 points and with a total score of 246.4 points. Despite the weekend being characterized by wind, Andreas Wellinger took home two podiums, one in the individual and one in the Team Competition and with two top 10 placings in the individual competitions, he consolidated his third place in the general classification.
