World Cup 2023/24: Sapporo
After the American stage in Lake Placid, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the event in Sapporo, Japan. On Friday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 13th, jumping 128.5 m and scoring 124.0 points. On Saturday, in the 1st Round he placed 4th, jumping 127.5 m and scoring 114.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he placed 3rd, jumping 134.0 m, with a score of 142.5 points and with a total score of 256.9 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 10th, jumping 129.0 m and scoring 128.1 points. In the 1st Round he placed 23rd, jumping 116.0 m and scoring 98.9 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he placed 16th, jumping 131.0 m, with a score of 121.7 points and with a total score of 220.6 points. It was a bittersweet weekend for Andreas Wellinger, who despite the podium obtained on Saturday lost second place to Ryoyu Kobayashi in the general classification. But nothing is lost and for Andreas there is still hope of regaining second position in the general classification.
