Ski Flying World Championships 2024: Kulm
After the Polski Tour, it's time for the Ski Flying World Championships, which will be held in Kulm, Austria, in which the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to aim for the podium and try to win the title. On Friday, in the 1st Round Andreas placed 5th, jumping 222.0 m and scoring 209.1 points. In the 2nd Round he placed 4th, jumping 218.5 m and scoring 196.4 points. On Saturday, in the 3rd Round he placed 2nd, jumping 229.0 m, with a score of 227.0 points and with a total score of 645.2 points. Finally, on Sunday, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Stephan Leyhe, Karl Geiger and Pius Paschke in the Team Competition. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the German team line up, jumped 219.5 m in the 1st Round and 229.5 m in the Final Round. Germany placed 3rd, with a total score of 1549.9 points. Both Thursday's qualification and Saturday's Final Round were canceled due to wind. Andreas Wellinger came close to winning the Ski Flying World Championships title, but took home two podiums, one in the individual and one in the team competition which confirms that Andreas is a great talent.
