World Cup 2022/23: Planica

 


The German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the last event of the World Cup season, namely the one in Planica, Slovenia. On Thursday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 26th, jumping 209.0 m and with a score of 172.6 points. On Saturday, in the Final Round, he finished 20th, jumping 214.5 m and scoring 197.9 points. In Team Competition, Germany fielded Andreas Wellinger, Markus Eisenbichler, Karl Geiger and Felix Hoffmann. Andreas, who jumped fourth in the line up of the German team, jumped 240.0 m in the 1st Round and 206.5 m in the Final Round. Germany ranked 5th, with a total score of 1451.0 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the 1st Round Andreas finished 12th, jumping 228.5 m and scoring 204.7 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 9th, jumping 240.5 m, with a score of 216.1 points and a total score of 420.8 points. The individual race which was scheduled for Friday, was postponed to Saturday with only one round due to wind, while the qualifying which was scheduled for Sunday was canceled due to wind. Andreas Wellinger finished the World Cup 2022/23 season in 7th position, with two wins, three podiums and a total score of 902 points.
