World Cup 2022/23: Lake Placid
The German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the event in Lake Placid, USA. On Saturday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 1st, jumping 132.5 m and with a score of 151.1 points. In the 1st Round he finished 5th, jumping 129.0 m and scoring 135.5 points, which was enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 1st, jumping 125.5 m, with a score of 129.0 points and a total score of 264.5 points. This means that Andreas Wellinger won the Lake Placid competition. In the Super Team Competition, Germany fielded Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger. Andreas, who jumped second in the German team's line up, jumped 127.5 m in the 1st Round, 125.0 m in the 2nd Round and 122.0 m in the Final Round. Germany ranked 4th, with a total score of 774.2 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the qualification Andreas qualified 3rd, jumping 125.5 m and with a score of 140.8 points. In the 1st Round he finished 3rd, jumping 124.0 m and scoring 131.1 points, which was enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 2nd, jumping 130.0 m, with a score of 145.0 points and a total score of 276.1 points. This means podium for Andreas. The qualification that was scheduled for Friday, had been postponed to Saturday due to the wind. Six years after his last World Cup victory, namely in Willingen in 2016/17 season, Andreas Wellinger is back to winning ways with great merit.
