World Cup 2021/22: Planica

 


As per tradition, the last event of the World Cup 2021/22 season takes place in Planica, Slovenia. On Thursday, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger qualified 30th in the qualification, jumping 221.5 m and scoring 197.6 points. On Friday, in the 1st Round he finished 24th, jumping 220.0 m and scoring 190.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 19th, jumping 241.5 m, with a score of 235.8 points and a total score of 426.2 points. On Saturday, in the Team Competition, Team Germany lined up Constantin Schmid, Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and Markus Eisenbichler. Andreas, who jumped third in the German team's lineup, jumped 220.5 m in the 1st Round and 228.0 m in the Final Round. Team Germany finished 5th, with a total score of 1,425.8 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the 1st Round Andreas finished 17th, jumping 223.0 m and with a score of 197.9 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 18th, jumping 230.0 m, with a score of 207.7 points and a total score of 405.6 points. In standings Andreas Wellinger ranked 29th, with a score of 219 points. For Andreas Wellinger it has been a season between highs and lows and below his expectations, but he will be ready to fight next season more determined than ever.
