Ski Flying World Championships 2022: Vikersund

 


The German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger takes part in the Ski Flying World Championships, which makes a stop in Vikersund, Norway. On Thursday, Andreas qualified 10th in qualifying, jumping 211.5 m and scoring 190.2 points. On Friday, in the 1st Round he finished 12th, jumping 216.5 m and scoring 195.5 points. In the 2nd Round he finished 16th, jumping 187.5 m, with a score of 187.5 points and a total score of 383.0 points. On Saturday, in the 3rd Round Andreas finished 18th, jumping 193.0 m and scoring 156.5 points. In the Final Round he finished 14th, jumping 219.5 m, with a score of 191.9 points and a total score of 731.4 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the Team Competition, Team Germany lined up Andreas Wellinger, Severin Freund, Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger. Andreas, who jumped second in the German team's lineup, jumped 226.5 m in the 1st Round and 206.5 m in the Final Round. Team Germany finished 2nd, with a total score of 1583.5 points, behind Slovenia and ahead of Norway. For Andreas Wellinger it was a weekend below expectations, but he takes home a medal, silver in the team competition.
