No Winter Olympics For Wellinger

The German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger will not take part in the Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 and therefore will not be able to defend the title of Olympic champion on normal hill won at the Winter Olympics PyeongChang 2018. In fact, the German team lined up for the Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 Karl Geiger, Markus Eisenbichler, Stephan Leyhe, Constantin Schmid and Pius Paschke. For Andreas this news is a blow to him and both he and his fans were disappointed. It will be tough for Andreas Wellinger to follow the Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 from home, although he would rather be there with his teammates but will cheer on his teammates.  Until next time!

Andreas Wellinger Positive To Covid-19

  Shortly before the World Cup event, which will take place this weekend in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger tested positive for Covid-19 and therefore will have to stay in home isolation and will miss the Titisee-Neustadt event. Andreas Wellinger Skips Zakopane

  During Friday's training in Zakopane, Poland, which was later canceled along with the qualification due to strong winds, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger felt his right knee pain. Fortunately his right knee is fine, but for precautionary reasons he has decided not to take part in the Zakopane event. Andreas Wellinger will take part in the subsequent World Cup 2021/22 events. World Cup 2021/22: Bischofshofen

  After an interlude of the Four Hills Tournament, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to compete in the event in Bischofshofen, Austria. On Saturday, Andreas qualified 42nd in qualifying, jumping 121.0 m and scoring 104.5 points. In the 1st Round he finished 23rd, jumping 127.5 m and scoring 118.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 19th, jumping 131.5 m, with a score of 134.3 points and a total score of 252.7 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the Team Competition, Team Germany lined up Constantin Schmid, Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and Markus Eisenbichler. Andreas, who jumped second, jumped 123.0 m in the 1st Round and 129.0 m in the Final Round. Team Germany finished 6th. Andreas Wellinger's weekend was bittersweet, but he returned to take part in the team competition.  Until next time!

Four Hills Tournament 2021/22: Bischofshofen

  Fourth and final event of the Four Hills Tournament: Bischofshofen, Austria. On Wednesday, which replaces Innsbruck and which counts as an event in Innsbruck, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger qualified 7th in the qualification, jumping 129.0 m and scoring 120.3 points. In the 1st Round in the KO he challenged the Turkish Fatih Arda Ipcioglu, winning the challenge, and finished 18th, jumping 129.5 m and with a score of 128.9 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 15th, jumping 130.5 m, with a score of 123.8 points and a total score of 252.7 points. Finally, on Thursday, in qualifying he qualified 42nd, jumping 124.5 m and scoring 118.3 points. In the 1st Round in the KO he challenged the Austrian Stefan Kraft, losing the challenge, and finished 33rd, jumping 124.0 m and with a score of 119.0 points, not enough to qualify for the Final Round.   Third event of the Four Hills Tournament: Innsbruck, Austria. On Monday, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger qualified 44th in the qualification, jumping 118.5 m and scoring 103.0 points. Due to the strong wind, the competition on Tuesday was canceled. Andreas Wellinger will have the opportunity to bring out all his talent in Bischofshofen to return to the best ski jumpers in the world.  Until next time!

Four Hills Tournament 2021/22: Garmisch-Partenkirchen

  Second Four Hills Tournament event: Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. On Friday, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger qualified 47th in the qualification, jumping 127.0 m and scoring 112.5 points. Finally on Saturday, in the KO he lost the match against the Austrian Jan Hörl, but was fished out among the lucky losers. He finished 21st, jumping 131.0 m and scoring 123.7 points, qualifying for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 22nd, jumping 129.0 m, with a score of 123.4 points and a total score of 247.1 points.
