Four Hills Tournament 2021/22: Oberstdorf

  First of four Four Hills Tournament events: Oberstdorf, Germany. On Tuesday, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger finished 51st in qualifying, jumping 108.0 m and scoring 106.0 points, not enough to qualify for the 1st Round the next day. This result for Andreas Wellinger is one of the worst of his career. But he will have other chances to make up and give the best of himself.  Until next time!

World Cup 2021/22: Engelberg

  After the weekend of ups and downs in Klingenthal, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to take part in the fifth seasonal event of the World Cup, which is Engelberg, Switzerland. On Saturday, in the 1st Round he finished 43rd, jumping 116.0 m and with a score of 100.0 points, not enough to qualify for the Final Round. Finally, on Sunday, Andreas qualified 42nd in qualifying, jumping 111.5 m and scoring 102.2 points. In the 1st Round he finished 24th, jumping 122.0 m and scoring 127.6 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 18th, jumping 131.0 m, with a score of 130.7 points and a total score of 258.3 points. For Andreas Wellinger it was a subdued and disappointing weekend, but the golden eagle German has no intention of giving up and will have other opportunities to redeem himself.  Until next time!

World Cup 2021/22: Klingenthal

  After a positive weekend in Wisla, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to compete in the home event in Klingenthal, Germany, valid for the World Cup. On Friday, Andreas qualified 5th in the qualification, jumping 129.0 m and scoring 124.2 points. On Saturday, in the 1st Round he finished 17th, jumping 130.0 m and scoring 121.7 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 6th, jumping 139.0 m, with a score of 135.8 points and a total score of 257.5 points. Finally, on Sunday, Andreas qualified 6th in the qualification, jumping 135.0 m and with a score of 129.3 points. In the 1st Round he finished 26th, jumping 116.0 m and scoring 92.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 21st, jumping 133.5 m, with a score of 126.5 points and a total score of 218.9 points. Quite a positive weekend for Andreas Wellinger, who is slowly returning to fight among the best. He is in clear progress.  Until next time!

World Cup 2021/22: Wisla

  After the bittersweet weekend in Ruka, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to redeem himself to compete in the third event of the World Cup, that of Wisla, Poland. On Friday, Andreas qualified 8th in the qualification, jumping 128.0 m, and with a score of 130.9 points. He did not take part in the Team Competition on Saturday and therefore a rest day for him. Finally on Sunday, in the 1st Round he finished 37th, jumping 111.0 m, and with a score of 99.4 points, not enough to qualify for the Final Round. It was an unlucky weekend for Andreas, but he has no intention of giving up.   Until next time!

World Cup 2021/22: Ruka

  After the windy weekend of Nizhny Tagil, the German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger is ready to redeem himself in the second event of the season, that of Ruka, Finland. On Friday, Andreas qualified 29th in qualifying, jumping 128.5 m and scoring 130.8 points. On Saturday, in the 1st Round he finished 31st, jumping 123.5 m and with a score of 125.0 points, not enough to qualify for the Final Round. Finally, on Sunday, Andreas qualified 20th in qualifying, jumping 132.0 m and scoring 134.0 points. In the 1st Round he finished 11th, jumping 132.5 m and scoring 142.7 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 10th, jumping 138.5 m, with a score of 138.8 points and a total score of 281.5 points. Andreas is improving, but there is still the margin to take away.  Until next time!
